There is going to be a gathering of acronyms in Redwood City — You don’t want to miss it!! Actually, it is the Annual Gathering of the Northern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ Thursday afternoon, April 26 through Sunday morning April 29th at the Sofitel Hotel at 223 Twin Dolphin Drive in Redwood City. This will be the second time visiting this location. (We’re hoping the food has improved 🙂 ) It is a lovely hotel and a great place to meet approximately 400-500 UCC members and clergy from around Northern California and Nevada. Merida and Lorna will be our lay delegates. Sandy and (probably) Paul will be clergy delegates and Linda will probably go just to supervise the others. The keynote speaker is the Rev. Tony Robinson, a dynamic leader and preacher from the Seattle area. You can click on his name to get more info on him. He is a prolific writer, and terrific speaker and focused on pastoral leadership in the 21st Century. There will be amazing worship opportunities, workshops galore, and plenty of discernment, enough to satisfy any UCC person! You can get detailed information about content and how to register at the NCNC website — just click “Annual Gathering” up there at the top of this note. If you are interested in attending AG, look at the agenda and feel very welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.
